BUN D.C. Test

I wanted to try out the screens I prepared for the Bun D.C. print, so I just used some old ink I had lying around in the studio. The screen was blocked in a funny way, so it looked like a white Hitler tasche. I'll have to redo the screens, plus I wanted it to be more insulting, so I did some finger painting over the top.

Doesn't Grow On Trees

Stroud Fringe 2012 Teaser Poster

A slightly more developed mock-up of how the Fringe festival teaser poster might look. The hair could be pretty much any colour. The line of perforation (which would be done by hand) could be wavy, so that the hair line would be more realistic/comical after the small strips of paper have been removed.

The Stroud Fringe Festival marketing committee and I briefly discussed exploring an end-of-the-World theme for the 2012 festival. Today I have been trying out some very quick ideas for apocalypse-themed images. For the programme, I would like to depict each participating venue in a different post-apocalyptic scenario.

Knot Print

Rough plan for a three-colour screenprint I hope to make soon. I messed something up in the early stages, so this doesn't match up perfectly. Later, I might put the small drop shadow around the whole of the 'ribbon', if I can face it. I think the image showing a detail from the larger image is actually nicer in terms of composition than the entire image... maybe I will play around with that and make a triptych or something.

Hot Feet Seal Logo Idea

Some stuff I was working on during my lunch break. I want the border to be more ornate, like that around the hole on a guitar. Also, roughly how it might work as just text.

3D Glasses. Colour Overlay.

I'd quite like to have a go at overlaying two translucent colours to create a third colour. It's a pretty basic technique that i've never really took the time to try out. This process puts the emphasis on mixing colours with the right level of opacity and lining up the two layers of translucent colour perfectly. Here's a simple design to show how two layers of colour ([would be] blue, red) might merge to form a third colour (green). I think the 3D glasses would work nicely, because the parts of the image that would be most translucent would be translucent on a real pair of 3D glasses.
