KNOW YOUR ENEMY

I'll probably make this into a poster, and maybe a t-shirt.

The Wave Express

The Wave Express

The people at TIDAL (Trade Injustice and Debt Action Leeds) have teamed up with Oxfam, Christian Aid, the Co-op and many others to charter a train to the climate march on December 5th in London.
I have been lucky enough to get to design a logo for the train, which is called 'The Wave Express'.
Here are some initial ideas for the logo.

Rich Uncle Pennybags

A new design for a screen print. I have printed a few onto t-shirts from charity shops, (which I plan to sell) and a few onto paper which I plan to paste up around places.

Paste Up

Pasted up the 'Still In The Ghetto' posters today. They went a bit bubbly, but I don't mind. I think they will look better when they are a bit torn and knackered... which will probably be about 10mins after we left and the kids on micro scooters ruin them.

Swing Tags

My first attempt at using the small Adana letterpress.
I think I used too much ink initially, and also the type may not have been flat in the chase.

'Still In The Ghetto' Posters

A new poster. It's a two-colour screenprint, printed by hand in my garage.
These will be going up at the skatepark as soon as it stops raining. Better copies will be printed as soon as anybody wants one.

Poster Design

A new two-colour poster design, which I hope to screenprint onto A2 tomorrow.
Also, a series of crest-like objects I designed to go in the top corner, before switching to a much simpler design. I hope to continue this series of objects into a complete grid, which I might then print onto a t-shirt.

Climate Camp Ideas

A couple of initial ideas for a flier I am designing. The flier is for a Climate Camp event taking place in Copenhagen this December, to coincide with the UN climate conference on the 15th.

New T-Shirt Design

I actually made this design before the beard t-shirt, but I haven't printed it yet.

A new t-shirt for John Bingle

New T-Shirt

This is a test piece I made for a new t-shirt. Hopefully the final product will be finished by tomorrow.

Dig For Sanity Poster

I printed these posters today using my new screen printing equipment. I know a bad workman always blames his tools, but the emulsion I am using keeps on falling off of the screen, I think it just really cheap, poor quality emulsion. The effects of the emulsion falling off can be seen around the text at the bottom, and on various parts of the starburst in the background of the design.
Also, the guy's shirt was supposed to be much darker, but I think the dots on the (colour halftone) positive may have been a bit too small.

Old Work

An alternative design for the 'polite suggestions' brief, and a stencil based on a Doug Stanhope quote. I just found these on my camera.

VOCALISE AGAINST FASCISM

The first poster made using my new screen printing equipment. The set up (in the garage) was a bit cluttered, and the print isn't perfect, but I think it is a fairly promising first attempt.

Secret Blisters Poster

Now that the show is over, I no longer have to keep my design a secret.
Here it is!!
Apparently the Print Club managed to sell 35/35 of my prints, I am just waiting for the cheque so I can buy some screen printing stuff :)

Secret Blisters 09

Here are some pics from the Secret Blisters show, which featured one of my prints.
You can just about see my print in the bottom left corner of the top photo (it's a bear).

Bye Bye Bird

The world's most annoying doorbell + a banger I found in my underwear drawer whilst moving out = unspeakable satisfaction

New Poster

Initial idea for a new screenprint. I might try to expand this design into a series of prints adopting a similar layout and content. I am keen to start focusing on more image-based work now that I have finished my uni course, as it feels like there is less pressure to produce lots of designs quickly.

Awe(and then)some

A new A2 screenprint, which uses 'Gold' ink, and a layer of screenprinted spot varnish. Whilst I was using the translucent plastic ('truegrain') to float the registration, I realised that ink I was using actually looked much shinier on the plastic sheet than on paper. I decided to produce a second set of prints, designed specifically for printing onto truegrain. The spot varnish was used to print small stars on top of the gold ink. The truegrain print was later sandwiched between two sheets of card with a window cut out of one piece, making a sort of frame.

Free Prints!!

These prints will be available during the Leeds College of Art show 'The End of the Beginning' between the 19th and 25th of June. Each print is a two-colour screenprint, with an additional layer of screenprinted spot varnish... each print is also stamped and numbered by hand on the reverse. Edition of 80... free whilst stocks last!!

CD Artwork Idea 2

Another fold-out image that could be printed onto a CD cover sleeve.
