Some stuff I was working on during my lunch break. I want the border to be more ornate, like that around the hole on a guitar. Also, roughly how it might work as just text.

3D Glasses. Colour Overlay.

I'd quite like to have a go at overlaying two translucent colours to create a third colour. It's a pretty basic technique that i've never really took the time to try out. This process puts the emphasis on mixing colours with the right level of opacity and lining up the two layers of translucent colour perfectly. Here's a simple design to show how two layers of colour ([would be] blue, red) might merge to form a third colour (green). I think the 3D glasses would work nicely, because the parts of the image that would be most translucent would be translucent on a real pair of 3D glasses.

Spaceman Photos

So I was sat on the sofa making the Good Day Shopping image and the light on the wall suddenly changed into a sort of strange shimmering mist. I thought it looked pretty cool, so naturally I went to find a miniature spaceman. Maybe I was just really really bored.

Nothing But Navy Posters and Fliers

This weekend I screenprinted a whole load of Posters and Fliers for the Nothing But Navy shop, which is opening soon. In the end, I think I printed 150 posters and 320 fliers. I now have RSI.

Diamond Print Scan

I scanned the creased tracing paper against a black background and played around with it on Photoshop. This helped to make the lines more clear, so I could see how accurate my folds were. It turns out not very accurate, but I think it's a fairly good first attempt. The black version of these images is roughly how the final print may look (i.e. light lines on a dark background).

Diamond Print

I started work on a print i've been planning based around a diamond design. I want to strongly crease paper that has been printed black with a laserjet, so that the creases will turn white. I then want to use the creased paper to transfer the design onto a silkscreen (maybe via a flatbed scanner). I tried creasing some tracing paper to get a rough idea of how the image might look. Shown here are the guide I used to crease the paper and some photos of the creased tracing paper. It was hard to capture the creases using my camera, so I back-lit the paper by hanging it in a doorway.

Rainbow Clothes

I just slapped my all-navy rainbow onto some photos of clothing to see if any nice designs could be made using it.

Cartoon Rainbow

I wanted to make a cartoon rainbow in Photoshop, but I couldn't figure it out somehow. I followed a tutorial, but it still didn't work how I wanted it... so I tried it a third time, using the 'stroke' of a circle as the bands of colour... and it worked. Let's celebrate.
